Compare My Care puts the CQC rating of every care home in England side by side, so that families choosing a home can see how a home compares with the others nearby and how current its rating is.

Who built it, and why

Compare My Care was built by Richard Chater, a doctor working in the UK. The aim is to help people make the most informed decisions they can about care, for themselves or someone close to them, by taking CQC's publicly available data and presenting it in a form that is easier to digest and compare.

The site presents CQC's published ratings and doesn't give medical or care advice. For decisions about someone's care, talk to the people involved in it, such as their GP, social worker or the local authority's adult social care team.

How it's run

It is built entirely from CQC's open data and is updated when CQC publishes new files. There are no paid listings and no enquiry forms. Providers cannot pay to change how they appear. Neither Richard Chater nor Flouri App Limited has any financial or commercial link with any care provider, care group or placement agency.
