Percentages are CQC scores from its newer way of assessing homes. ?
CQC scored 33 standards: 13 good, 20 below good. Use “See the breakdown” on each key question for its standards. ?
CQC hasn't inspected this home for more than 5 years. It re-inspects based on risk, so an old rating doesn't count against a home on this site, but it may not reflect the home today. ?
Ridgegate Home is an independent 25-bed residential care home in Reigate, Surrey, registered with CQC under its own name. Its CQC registration covers older people, people with dementia, younger adults, people with a physical disability, people with mental health needs and people with a sensory impairment.
CQC's latest rating, from September 2025, is Requires improvement overall. Safe, responsive and well-led were also Requires improvement. Effective and caring were rated Good. Its previous rating, in November 2018, was Good, so the home has slipped. That is more recent than most ratings in Surrey, where the typical rating is about 4 years old. Of the 33 standards CQC scored, 20 fell below good. The lowest was “person-centred care” (significant shortfalls).
Food hygiene inspectors scored the kitchen 5 out of 5 in April 2026. That is true of 87% of homes in Surrey. Across Surrey, 81% of rated homes are Good or Outstanding, against 82% for England. Wray Common Nursing Home, 0.2 km away, is the closest home rated Good.
